Energa is using geodesic domes for mobile learning centers
Multiple locations, Poland /
2013 - 2015
Throughout 2013, 2014 and 2015 D&M Adventure together with Energa group, organized a series of educational events for children under the name Planet of Energy. Young scientists conducted a series of experiments which learned them why hair gets electrified, what is lightning, how to find a good shelter during thunderstorms, how power plants create energy in large quantities, how it is transmitted to our houses and how to use it safely.
Additionally organizers prepared a series of lectures and experiments teaching ecology. Children could find out how much electricity is consumed by home appliances, learn about renewable energy sources, play with a train set powered with solar energy, learn how water turbines work, and create energy energy on a stationary bicycle.
Science center was housed under three Freedome 75 geodesic structures for a total of almost 250sqm indoor space. Two domes featured transparent front, and structure acting as a cinema hall was fully covered with an opaque membrane, and connected to another structure by a tunnel.
Freedomes geodesic domes are an ideal solution for children events. Solid construction without sharp or protruding edges guarantees safety, allowing a casual and carefree fun for people of all ages.
Even though Planet of Energy tour is finished, organizers loved versatility and ease of assembly of our structures. D&M Adventure has already declared his willingness to use them in other forthcoming events.
