Domes ’Make Some Noise’ at Music For Life
Boom, Belgium /
December 2015
3 ’Igloo’ Domes hit Studio Brussel's Christmas charity event at Boom this year. Here, at the outskirts of the Antwerp town, music was playing loud for over 7 days (the town name obliges)! People rocked to the records played by VRT public broadcaster in exchange for donations.
The hosts to the fundraiser, Linde Merckpoel, Siska Schoeters and Eva De Roo, made a record by raising a whopping €5 million (for a total of 1,045 selected charitable causes) by organising over 3000 different collecting activities during the so-called ”Hottest Week" (orig. „De Warmste Week”).
Freedomes brought in three of their best concert gear: custom Open Dome 110, Open Dome 75 and F30, all with premium flooring. They served as music stages giving a big energy boost to help the DJs through the night shifts. While DJs were in residence, they played songs requested by visitors, in return for their contribution.
In total, radio presenters dropped some 150 hours of great music waiting for charitable calls and getting support from the local stars and celebrities including Jasper Steverlinck, Trixie Whitley and Tourist Lemc. It's the 10th time Music for Life fundraiser is being organised and the initiative just keeps getting better every year!
